CRITERIA FOR CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
A personal affirmation that you have received Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord.
You agree with our Confession and Statement of Faith as well as our Church Covenant.
You believe that the Lord wants you to be a part of this church. If you are leaving another church, then it is important to us that you have left your former fellowship while maintaining the “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”. It is mandatory, that you need to inform your former church of this pending membership change.
You acknowledge and are in agreement that Faith Deliverance Tabernacle Rhema pastor(s) and elders have a pastoral responsibility over your life.
Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and being baptized, I pledge my support in agreeing to the statements, strategies, plans and structures of the church through the leading of the Holy Spirit and I feel led to unite with the church family.
In doing so I commit myself to God and to other members to do the following:
1. I will protect the unity of my church:
By acting in love towards one another
By refusing to gossip, tale bear or be a hypocrite
By following the leaders
And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and in prayer. And all believed were together, and had all things in common. (Acts 2:42,44).
Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently (1Pet. 1:22)
Let no communication that is corrupt proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers. (Eph.4:29)
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as men that must give account, that they must do it with joy and not with grief, for that is unprofitable for you. (Heb. 13: 17)
2. I will share the responsibility of my church:
By praying for its growth
By inviting the unsaved to attend
By warmly welcoming those who visit
To the church, we always thank God for you and pray for you constantly (1Thes.1:2)
The Lord said unto the disciples, go into the high ways and bye ways, and urge the people there to come so my house might be fill (Lk.14:23)
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. (Rom.15:7)
3. I will serve the ministry of my church:
By discovering my gifts and talents
By being equipped by my pastors to serve
By developing a servant’s heart
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1Pt.4:10)
Some He gave apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)
Let nothing be done through strife and vainglory but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery be equally with God, but made himself of not reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of him. (Phil.2:3-4,7)
4. I will support the testimony of the church:
By attending faithfully
By living a Godly life
By giving regularly
Let us not forsake the assembling of the saint together as some do, let us encourage one another. (Heb.10:25)
Whatever happens, make sure that your every day life is worthy of the gospel of Christ. (Phil.1:27)
Redeeming the time because the days are evil. (Eph. 5: 16)
Walk in the wisdom towards them that are without redeeming the time. (Col:4:5)
5. I will ensure that my church is financially viable:
By being faithful in tithing
By giving my offerings
By supporting where else necessary
Each of you, on the first day of the week, should set aside a specific sum of money in proportion to what you have earned and use it for the offering. (1Cor.16:2)
A tenth of all your produce is the lord’s and it is holy. (Lev.27:30)
Will a man rob God? ------- In tithes are offering, ye are curse with a curse. (Mal 3:8,9)
